I began to write my final newsletter for this academic year and I’m so very glad I did. Its enabled me to discover and revisit a little glimpse of magic.
Magic that as adults, as tried, weary and stressed out oftentimes grumpy – we know best – grown ups, we need reminding and yet children have this in abundance. We as as a workforce are referred to as teachers, yet there is so much that children can teach us and we should stop, look, listen and pay attention for they don’t look for the magic they feel it and know it is there.
Rachel and I started our collaboration at the beginning of this year and it is fair to say we are delighted with where we are now! The feedback we have received from each and every single person that has attended our sessions has been overwhelming, in fact it is fair to say, it has exceeded our expectations.
When we started, we knew we wanted to bring a unique approach to our events, the very fact that our sessions are set in the outdoors is unusual in itself! However, we also wanted our events to be an opportunity for those taking the time out of their busy demanding job roles to feel celebrated, nurtured and motivated.
We have had the pleasure of meeting so many local Early Years enthusiasts, sharing some rather special moments in the peace and quiet of the Warwickshire countryside, where we embraced the benefits of the outdoors, how it felt to have the sunshine warm our faces, the crunch of leaves and twigs underfoot as we explored and played hide and seek in the woods, the uplifting effect of a morning spent outside in the fresh air and the time to enjoy a sip a warm cup of tea from vintage tea china, as we sat around enthusing and motivating one another, sharing our ideas, thought and feelings. Every person that attended our events added to the magic, made them feel a little more special and helped to create a joined up way of thinking.
We want more of that. We want these opportunities in abundance – time to celebrate, collaborate and inspire one another. So much so that we have planned out some events for the Autumn term already. They say there is power in numbers – we are learning that is true. They say there is magic in childhood – we know this to be true. Our aim moving forward is to bring our early years workforce in the midlands together, to combine our powers and our magic.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to one of our events soon, please do drop us a line if you have any specific training ideas or thoughts to share with us, we would love to hear from you.
So on behalf of Rachel and myself we would like to thank every single early years enthusiast who has been part of our journey so far and wish you a happy summer, whether you are taking a break or working through the summer, take the time to prioritise your self-care and focus on you!
